Nessebar

The town of Nessebar is one of the oldest towns in Europe. It is the successor of the ancient Thracian settlement called Mesembria founded in the Second century B.C. Since XI century the Slav name Messebar or Nessebar has been used together with the original name Mesembria. The town is situated on a small rocky peninsula in the North part of the Bourgas bay. The long coastline and its diversity character create favourable conditions for exciting living. Nowadays, Nessebar is one of the most popular resorts among the tourists for its ancient spirit and well-preserved remains. Designated a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sight in 1983, the tiny town attracts thousands of visitors yearly. You will be welcomed by the perfect harmony of a small piece of land and the immense sea and the golden sands surrounding it. There are proper conditions for either quiet and pleasant holiday, or noisy and memorable amusement. Both the Old and the New Town are full of life, music and entertainment and you can have fun till dawn. Location: On the southern Black Sea Coast, 37 km north of Bourgas and the International Airport. It takes 3,5 hours by road from Istanbul and 5 hours from Athens to reach this heavenly spot. History: According to legends, the churches of Nessebar were no less than 41, which, when compared to the small population of the town, make the latter one of the world's settlements with the highest number of churches per capita. Wine & Dine: The town is rich in lively restaurants, old-style mehanas and pubs, bars, pleasant cafes and attractive discos Transport: There are regular buses connecting Bourgas, Pomorie, Nessebar and Sunny Beach. A lot of private taxis and minibuses are at your service as well. Health Care: Good medical service, provided by well-recognized specialists ready to assist at any time. ge of Gigen
